About the position
We are looking for an experienced and committed officer/reserve officer for the role of Section Commander at the Cadet Battalion. The position involves overall responsibility for education within the section, with a special focus on guidance, leadership, and individual development.
As Section Commander, you combine leadership with the role of a supervising mentor. You supervise and develop cadets, drive the educational activities forward, and ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with the Swedish Armed Forces' values and guidelines. You serve as a clear role model and actively contribute to shaping future officers.
The employment is at the Third Naval Warfare Flotilla, which contributes to staffing the Swedish Armed Forces' educational activities by providing personnel to various educational environments.
Responsibilities
As Section Commander, you have overall responsibility for education and development within your section. You:
- Lead, plan, and follow up on education according to current course objectives
- Supervise and develop cadets in their professional and leadership roles
- Act as a supervising mentor throughout the cadets' education
- Monitor individual progress and provide clear, developmental feedback
- Contribute to the selection, follow-up, and assessment of cadets
- Collaborate internally within the Swedish Armed Forces and externally, primarily with the Swedish Defence University
- Participate in exercise activities and contribute to the battalion's development
Qualifications
- Officer rank of at least Lieutenant or Warrant Officer rank of at least Staff Sergeant
- Several years of experience in command positions, such as Platoon Commander, Service Branch Commander, or equivalent
- Experience in personnel management as well as planning, implementation, and evaluation of operations

Working conditions
The position consists of approximately 70% administrative tasks and 30% physical activities. You are expected to have the physical ability to participate in and lead physical training as well as exercise activities.
The work may involve Armed Forces duty days as well as evening and weekend service.
Employment type: Fixed-term until 2028-03-31
Start date: No later than December 2026 or earlier by agreement

The Third Naval Warfare Flotilla is an operational unit in the Swedish Navy. The flotilla has the capability to control sea areas, sea lanes, and maritime traffic, conduct operations on and under the surface, and clear mines in harbor areas, coastal waters, and the open sea. The unit operates both nationally and internationally. Ships and staff train and prepare both sailors and officers for immediately operational units. The flotilla also continuously provides personnel for various international operations.
Year-round and around the clock, the flotilla contributes to security by patrolling and monitoring Swedish maritime territory.
